Work And Travel In The USA With Smaller Earth!
Be more than just a tourist! Experience American culture with a working holiday in America. If you have a job offer ready for your summer work and travel adventure, then we can help you with your paperwork and the mandatory insurance you will need for your trip.
To be eligible for a summer work travel visa, you need to be between 18 and 30 years old and be a full-time student in continuing education and on the break between academic years. You must be enrolled at a college or university in your native country.Your Summer Work and Travel Visa.

Summer work travel is not only about using your holiday time differently, it will also enhance your CV as you set yourself apart from other graduates within the current job market with experience that demonstrates key skills that employers look for.
To take part in our Summer Work and Travel program, you will need:
Proof of your job offer, proof of your student status (stamped/ signed by university office), a completed application form, proof of your English language ability (non-native speakers), a copy of the details page from your passport, an up-to-date CV.
If you have a job doing any of the following jobs, you wont be eligible to use a summer work and travel visa. camp counselor, park ranger, nanny, babysitter, au pair, medical worker, teacher or coach,
crew member on a ship or airplane, pilot, Door-to-door salesperson.
Your Summer Work and Travel Visa
Your visa can last up to 4 months. After this, you have 30 days to travel freely within the USA. Once you enter the USA you are required to go to your pre-arranged job. If you do not report to the original employer you will be reported to the Department of State, which could result in your visa will be cancelled your being subject to deportation!
Visa Sponsorship
The Independent Summer Work & Travel program is administered in conjunction with our US Department of State authorized visa sponsor, Cultural Homestay International. During your time in America twenty four hour support is provided by Cultural Homestay International.
Included in the Summer Work And Travel Program:
- J-1 visa documentation
- 4 months insurance coverage
- Complete orientation
- Program Handbook
- Program administration and supervision
- 24-hour emergency assistance
Insurance is included throughout the full length of your program and can only be used in the USA. Your insurance will cover exactly the same period as your DS-2019 form. If you decide to work for the full 4 months then travel afterwards you'll need to arrange additional insurance.
We've outlined below additional expenses you'll need to budget for seperatley when planning your work and travel adventure:
- Your visa application fees at the U.S. Consulate/Embassy
- Your round trip airfare to the U.S.
- Any airport transfers
- Any transport costs
- Your daily living expenses including rent, utilities, furnishings, meals etc.
- Any accomodation assistance you'll need during your trip.
